Out of food hoses the most common material qualities  are the rubber, polyurethane, PVC and silicone. These rubber hoses are suitable for industrial use as a result of their great abrasion-resistance, heat-resistance and time-reistance.

Hoses can be categorized as suction, ducting, suction-ducting. The difference between them is that suction hoses are made with steel spiral, ducting hoses are made with fabric insertion, suction-ducting hoses are made with both steel spiral and fabric insertion.

Food grade hoses are mostly used for the transportation of liquids (e.g. milk, water, beer, wine etc.). If solid materials need to be transported (e.g. sugar, spices), we have to look out for the data regarding the abrasion resistance of the hose.

Not all hoses are suitable for the transportation of alcohol, thus it has to be chosen carefully.
